Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee.  This role will process invoices, maintain vendor records, and support project accounting. Ideal candidates will have experience in high-volume AP, strong organizational skills, and detail oriented. This position is full-time, on-site position in Knoxville, Tennessee. Our office will be relocating to 9907 Fleenor Mill Rd, Heiskell, TN 37754 in early 2027. Military Veterans encouraged to apply!  Your Pay: $18 - $20 per hour, depending on experience.  Annual profit-sharing bonus. Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm Your Benefits:  * Two Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medical Plans (non-tobacco) at no cost to you!  * Company paid short-term disability and voluntary long-term disability.  * Other benefits include Vision, Dental, and optional insurance coverage.  * 8 paid holidays every year.  * Paid time off (PTO) – starts accruing on Day 1.  * 401(k) Plan with company match!  * Company-paid life insurance & so much more.  Your Tasks:  * Issue and process purchase orders in a timely manner. * Process invoices in a timely manner. * Resolve discrepancies and communicate with vendors and Project Managers. * Maintain vendor records in COINS ERP. * Ensure expense reports are completed on time. * Help with annual and monthly closing and reporting. * Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. * Assist with answering phones while the receptionist is on lunch or PTO. * Assist AP Manager and Controller, as assigned. Experience or Certification needed:  * 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience. * Experience in Construction accounting preferred. * Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred; equivalent AP experience will also be considered. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You need to be able to: * Keep it a Drug-free Workplace.  * Be punctual and reliable.  * Work as a team.  * Comfortable managing multiple priorities. * Sit or stand at a computer for 8 hours per day.
