Why Children's National Hospital?
Children's National Hospital is one of the nation's leading pediatric academic
health systems and serves as the premier destination for complex pediatric care
in the Washington, D.C. region. Our mission extends beyond providing exceptional
care. We are advancing pediatric medicine through innovation, research,
education, and advocacy, while remaining deeply committed to delivering the best
possible outcomes for children and families. The organization is entering an
exciting new chapter under the leadership of a new Chief Executive Officer with
a bold vision for growth, innovation, and national leadership in pediatric
healthcare. This vision is driving significant investments in clinical
excellence, digital transformation, workforce development, research, and
patient-centered care, creating opportunities for clinicians to help shape the
future of healthcare delivery.
The Division of Pharmacy Services is a nationally respected pediatric pharmacy
program comprised of clinical specialists, pharmacists, residents, fellows, and
learners who support care across virtually every pediatric subspecialty. Our
pharmacists are embedded members of interdisciplinary care teams and practice at
the top of their license through direct patient care, protocol development,
medication safety initiatives, quality improvement, teaching, and research. As
home to ASHP-accredited PGY1, PGY2 Pediatrics, and PGY2 Oncology residency
programs, Children's National fosters a culture of continuous learning,
professional growth, and innovation. The department is also preparing for a
transformational transition to Epic, one of the most significant strategic
initiatives in the organization's history. This implementation presents a rare
opportunity for incoming pharmacists to help design, optimize, and advance
oncology medication-use processes and clinical decision support within a
next-generation electronic health record.

highly specialized environment where your expertise directly influences patient
outcomes. Clinical Pharmacy Specialists are deeply embedded within the care team
