About Dig Energy, Inc.
Dig Energy is upending the economics of geothermal drilling: our a drilling
system cuts borehole installation costs by 80%. This makes geothermal heating,
cooling, and refrigeration the default option for commercial buildings
everywhere, enabling a 24/7, available-anywhere energy source to scale for the
first time. We've raised funding from top tier investors, are deploying rigs on
live construction sites, and are scaling toward large projects. The next year is
laser focused on building the team and refining the equipment and systems that
will be deployed in real time, on real job sites.
Given the hands on nature of our work, this is an on site role at our Manchester
office.
The Role
We are looking for multi-disciplinary and experienced engineers that can own and
execute on core engineering challenges while building processes for quality and
scale. The Mechanical Engineer will drive pieces of mechanical design,
electro-mechanical packaging, product development and manufacturing. This role
will be heavily hands-on engineering and execution focused.
What You Will Do
* Concept development, evaluation and down selection of mechanical systems
* Detailed design and validation of key components and sub-modules
* Component and system level analysis
* Perform systems/material testing to help refine designs
* DFM work with the team to establish robust fabrication and assembly
procedures
* Design system components, including detailed drawings for manufacturing using
best practices and GD&T
* Product development for novel drilling and geothermal installation systems
* System level lab and field testing
Who You Are
* 5-15 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience
* Experience in a fast-paced, execution-oriented early stage startup
* Resourceful and highly collaborative team player who thinks creatively and
who can work with a fast pace, cross-functional team
* Thorough understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and
concepts in mechanical and mechanical systems engineering
* High attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication
skills
* Fluent using CAD systems such as SolidWorks
* Experience in engineering analysis such as FEA, CFD, FMEA or PFMEA is a plus
* Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as injection molding,
sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining and 3D printing
* Familiarity with moving products from R&D through Design and into
Manufacturing
* Comfortable creating engineering documentation including 2D part drawings,
assemblies and schematics
* BS in Mechanical Engineering, mechatronics, or related field
