Student Worker - Dining Room Production Worker

The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker - Dining Room Production Worker at our Bryan Campus. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary 

To maintain the dining facility and to perform general duties in the preparation and service of food on a routine basis.


Principal Accountabilities

• Replenishing the convenience store shelves with merchandise and maintaining organization in storage area. 
• Prepares service lines for meals and cleans serving lines after service.
• Works on steam table serving line making sure it stays clean and filled during service hours. 
• Fills ice dispensers. Arranges beverage glasses on serving shelves. Prepares coffee. Refills drinks machines as needed.
• Replenishes the various areas with supplies and condiments as needed. 
• Removes garbage from the food service area garbage receptacles and replaces the liners. 
• Performs general cleaning. Cleans spills immediately. 
• Performs duties as assigned for special events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. .

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

• Must be federal work study eligible 
• Basic reading and writing skills
• Must hold a food handlers license or have the ability to obtain within 30 days. 

Minimum Competencies

• Ability to understand and perform oral instructions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding activities including walking, stooping, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
• Ability to learn or knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service
• Ability to care for and use basic food equipment.
• Ability to learn routine methods and practices of food preparation and service.

• Institutional or school food service experience
