Why UPMC Presbyterian?
Unit Description:
4D/5D are medical cardiology units, each with 18 telemetry beds in private rooms. We care for patients with various cardiac diagnoses, including heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, cardiac rhythm disturbances, cardiac catheterization, post-pacemaker/ICD placement, and preparing patients for heart transplant and/or LVAD placement. We also have the ability for nursing staff to determine step down status care for our patients. The culture on 4D/5D is one that emphasizes patient education, encouraging lifestyle changes that will have a positive impact on heart disease as well as promoting home care. We have a positive, high-performing team that includes physicians and APPs alongside our unit staff.
At UPMC, we’re passionate about continuing to support your growth throughout your nursing journey. We offer a robust career ladder for bedside nursing that starts with Professional Staff Nurse and leads to Expert Nurse and beyond. The final job title and rate of pay will be based upon both individual qualifications and candidate choice. Any required certifications and contributions based on job title will be afforded a timeframe to obtain. Our competitive career ladder, as well as our Total Rewards package, will be discussed at time of offer to ensure you can make the choices that are right for you. The minimum rate of pay for a non-BSN Professional Staff Nurse is $37.00.
