MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 

Part-Time Non-Exempt  

Reports to: General Manager 

We’re seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician with experience maintaining facility systems and equipment, who is committed to ensuring a safe, fully functional, and welcoming fitness environment for our members and team.

Position Overview 

The Maintenance Technician team member plays a vital role in ensuring the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of the club. Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of repairs and routine, semi-skilled maintenance across regional facilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, equipment repair, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical work. This role requires the ability to operate a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment, while supporting overall facility operations and completing related tasks as needed to maintain an exceptional member experience. 

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities 

Cleanliness 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the interior of the club 
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the immediate exterior of the club 
• Support a positive member experience by assisting members and guests as needed 
• Complete daily cleaning and maintenance checklists as directed by the General Manager 
• Foster a friendly, helpful, and team-oriented attitude with staff, members, and guests 

Facility & Equipment Maintenance 

• Perform a variety of routine, semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical work 
• Ensure all equipment, spaces, structures, and infrastructure are maintained in proper working condition 
• Perform equipment repairs and coordinate with subject matter experts or vendors when necessary 
• Conduct routine inspections of heating, electrical, and air conditioning systems; replace filters and identify more complex issues for escalation 
• Assemble, repair, maintain, and move furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed 

Operations & Safety 

• Inspect facilities and grounds to ensure safety, cleanliness, and security standards are consistently met 
• Identify and report hazardous conditions or maintenance concerns to leadership promptly 
• Follow all safety protocols and utilize appropriate safety equipment when performing tasks 
• Assist with structural pest control measures and prevention efforts 

Administrative Duties 

• Maintain records and logs of daily maintenance and repair activities 
• Support regional or club-level special events, as needed 
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall club operations 

Required Skills & Experience 

• Prior experience in facilities maintenance, building systems, or a related field is required 
• Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and maintain a personal set of tools required to perform job duties 
• Must be fluent in the English language (written and verbal) 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and file-sharing platforms 
• Must have access to a personal computer or laptop and a reliable email platform 
• CPR/AED certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

• Working knowledge of Crunch Fitness offerings, or the ability to quickly learn and confidently share with members 
• Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude at all times 
• Strong attention to safety, with a consistent focus on following health and safety standards 
• Proficient reading, writing, and basic computer skills 

Preferred Experience 

• Experience working in a fitness center, gym, or high-traffic commercial environment 
• Hands-on experience with cardio and strength equipment repair and preventative maintenance 
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems (certifications a plus) 
• Prior experience supporting multiple locations or working in a regional maintenance role 
• Experience with work order systems or maintenance tracking software 
• Familiarity with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and facility compliance practices 
• Certifications or formal training in a skilled trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or general contracting) 
• Experience with IT equipment setup and basic network troubleshooting 
• Previous experience supervising or coordinating custodial or maintenance staff 
• Experience supporting new club openings, renovations, or large-scale facility projects

Physical Requirements  

• This is a physical role requiring the employee to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may require standing or bending for prolonged work hours. Must also be able to safely climb a ladder when needed.

Education Requirements   

• High school diploma or GED required    

Schedule Requirement 

Employees must be available and flexible to work any day of the week, Monday through Sunday, as scheduled by the Company. Work schedules may vary based on business needs. 

Compensation (Hourly) 

• $12.00-12.50/hour
