Classification: Winter Seasonal, Full-Time

Job Duties

The Retail Assistant Manager is responsible for managing a specific area of retail operations and employees with JH Sports to achieve excellent guest service, branding, training and budgetary goals.

• Trains, manages, conducts performance management, hiring, firing, and motivates staff to drive retail sales and service at JH
• Train all retail staff on Snowcloud usage and procedures.
• Assist JH Sports Asst GM develop and implement training programs for all store staff to ensure they are exceeding our guest service and operational expectations as well as meeting all safety requirements.
• Manage schedule and Timecards for staff within area of responsibility.
• Manage and purchase unique hardgoods parts and inventory to support excellent service and reputation of store.
• Open JH Sports (Train Leads)
• Close JH Sports (Train Leads)
• Work with Information Systems team to ensure all technology needs are met ahead of each season.
• Facilitate Morning Meetings and coach staff on Sales Goals and Up-Selling techniques.
• Maintains efficient daily operation of Retail department and promotes excellent customer service.
• Promotes retail operation with the assistance of the JH Sports Asst GM
• Inventory control of all retail merchandise and oversees bi-annual physical inventory count procedure.
• Assist in receiving and transferring products between stores.
• Coordinates cross-selling and training with .
• Maintains store presentation to meet all retail visual standards.
• Assists in beginning of season set-up and end of season breakdown.
• Work with buying team and merchandiser in ensuring appropriate merchandise placement.
• Assists in all promotional events.

• Extensive knowledge of ski retail operation.
• Basic knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
• Basic knowledge of the ski/snowboard industry and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong people management skills.
• Basic Excel skills
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Two years of previous management experience preferred
• Minimum three years in ski/snowboard operations
• Minimum 2-year college degree or equivalent job-specific training
