Lead the end-to-end architecture for a robotics software platform that connects and operates physical devices across a fleet. This hands-on leadership role sets technical direction across cloud, edge, frontend, and AI systems while helping grow the software platform team.
Design and own platform architecture spanning device connectivity, fleet management, AI capabilities, data pipelines, and model training workflows.
Set technical direction across frontend, backend, robot-side software, and infrastructure, and make architectural decisions as the team scales.
Write and review production code, especially while establishing foundational abstractions.
Design safe ways to integrate AI agents, including chatbots, agentic behaviors, and learning from fleet data, with appropriate safeguards for physical robots.
Grow and lead the software platform team, establish engineering standards, and develop architecture review processes.
At least 8 years of experience in platform architecture, with broad system design ownership across distributed backends and frontend systems.
Staff-, principal-, or equivalent-level experience architecting platforms for hardware, IoT, connected devices, or robotics at scale.
Strong distributed systems and system design skills, including the ability to reason about end-to-end edge, cloud, and frontend architecture.
Recent hands-on coding experience and a record of owning architecture across multiple teams.
Experience with connected-device systems, real-time communication, APIs, data pipelines, fleet management, and edge-cloud architecture.
A computer science or related technical degree, familiarity with AI agents and tool use, and comfort adopting AI-assisted development practices.
Startup or early-stage leadership experience is beneficial.
