VICTIM WITNESS COORDINATOR PRIORITIES:
Compassion, empathy, and respect will be at the center of everything you do, as you'll help victims and witnesses in criminal cases navigate the criminal justice system and share their stories. You'll be the bridge between prosecutors and the victims/witnesses as cases progress, clearly explaining judicial information in non-technical terms and providing emotional support. This dynamic role tackles a variety of responsibilities as assigned by the State's Attorney's Office, including case file notation, data entry, and grant application support. You'll keep staff updated on contacts with victims and witnesses and jump in to help with other duties as assigned. Your efforts will help keep victims and witnesses feeling safe, comfortable, and like they're in good hands!
In order to do this, you'll need...
While not required, it'd be beneficial if you have grant management experience, experience as a victim/witness coordinator/advocate, or professional experience de-escalating traumatized or angry individuals. Familiarity with court-related computer programs (Odyssey, JustWare, SAVIN, etc.) would be a bonus!
