The Director of Technology & Business Systems is the company's senior leader for internal technology, business systems, cybersecurity, automation, applied artificial intelligence, and technology solution enablement. The role is accountable for keeping the technology environment secure and reliable while also using systems, data, integrations, AI, and new technology offerings to make the business easier to operate, more scalable, and more technically capable in the market.
This is a hands-on, business-first technology leadership role with a meaningful sales-engineering and solution-development component. The Director will work directly with executive and department leaders to improve internal operations while also helping evaluate, select, develop, train, and implement new products and software services. The position is expected to move comfortably between technology strategy, vendor and budget oversight, system administration, solution architecture, pre-sales technical support, workflow design, product evaluation, training, and implementation.
Primary Outcomes
Reliable IT operations and responsive employee technology support.
Clear ownership and governance of core business systems, data, permissions, and integrations.
Less duplicate entry, manual administration, disconnected workflows, and spreadsheet dependency.
Practical AI and automation solutions that produce measurable time, cost, quality, or decision-making improvements.
Improved cybersecurity, access control, device management, business continuity, and technology risk management.
Actionable operational reporting and better availability of trusted information across departments.
Repeatable, technically validated product and software solutions that Sales can confidently position, and Operations can consistently implement and support.
Effective technical training and enablement for Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Service, and field teams as new technologies are introduced.

Evaluate commercial AI solutions against internally developed approaches based on functionality, security, maintainability, adoption, and return on investment.
Track usage, quality, employee feedback, and business results to continuously improve AI tools after deployment.
Workflow Automation, Integration & Process Improvement
Work directly with department leaders to map current-state processes, identify bottlenecks, and design improved future-state workflows.
Determine whether a business problem should be solved through technology, automation, process redesign, training, standardization, or a combination of approaches.
Build and maintain integrations, automated workflows, approvals, notifications, and data synchronization processes that reduce administrative effort and improve information flow.
Prioritize automation opportunities based on business value, frequency, risk, maintainability, and measurable time or cost savings.
Develop dashboards and reporting tools that give leadership timely, actionable operational and financial information.
Document critical workflows and integrations so the company is not dependent on individual knowledge or undocumented workarounds.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Business Continuity
Develop and maintain appropriate cybersecurity policies, controls, standards, and operating practices for the size and risk profile of the company.
Own or oversee identity and access management, authentication, endpoint protection, device security, backups, data protection, and related security controls.
Coordinate cybersecurity assessments, incident-response procedures, recovery planning, and continuity planning for critical technology services.
Partner with executive leadership and compliance resources on customer, vendor, insurance, audit, and regulatory technology requirements.
Identify material technology risks and drive practical mitigation plans, including third-party and vendor-related technology risks.
Cross-Functional Partnership
The role will work closely with leaders across the organization to ensure technology initiatives are grounded in operating requirements and adopted successfully. Key areas of partnership include:
