Department: Med Surg RenalEmployment Type: Full Time (36 hours/week)

Shifts Available: Nights

Hours: 12-Hour shifts - 6:45pm to 7:15am

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

We are seeking a Med Surg Renal CNA, also referred to as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. Our Med Surg Renal CNA will assist with patient care on our Medical Surgical Renal unit (4E) by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required
• Current BLS upon hire and maintain current
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred
