Position is contingent upon contract award.
The successful candidate will:
• Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex electrical interfaces and lab infrastructure environments.
• Evaluate customer/operational needs to define electrical signal constraints, coordinate interface connections, and assure compatibility of all physical wire routing and instrumentation interfaces.
• Perform various analyses to optimize grounding networks, signal integrity, and data bus layouts.
• Perform analyses for electromagnetic interference (EMI), power conditioning, telemetry routing, signal attenuation, physical connector safety, testability, and other specialties that factor into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Position Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with system requirements and specifications of the design and development of the electrical interface connections for test support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics hardware design, assembly, and test engineers, to build high-speed signal distribution panels.
• Define and document the wire harness schematics, pinning charts, and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) setups.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry electrical standards, grounding rules, and laboratory occupational safety guidelines.
• Support test plans and procedure development to verify physical loopback connections and ensure signal integrity.
• Support the troubleshooting and resolution of any power drops, electrical short circuits, or wiring harness damage during validation steps.
Required Qualifications:
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related discipline
• Experience with electrical harness drafting, lab bench wiring, or physical diagnostic tool deployment AND/OR Experience tracing aerospace communication buses like MIL-STD-1553 or CAN.
• Electrical integration experience (5+ years) including wiring schematic map creation, diagnostic analysis, and technical document lookup.
• Familiarity with physical connector safety policies and electronic shielding procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in building or debugging physical breakout boxes for complex defense or rocket avionic systems.
•Knowledge of specialized diagnostic equipment (e.g., Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, TDR meters).
•Proficiency in using engineering software tools for modeling, simulation, and analysis (e.g., Altium, AutoCAD, LabVIEW).
•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to isolate physical circuit failures from mathematical logic anomalies.
