POSITION SUMMARY: Central Monitor Technicians are specialty-trained members of the Patient Care Team who provide centralized, Ministry-wide cardiac surveillance for patients receiving cardiac monitoring across multiple facilities and care areas. Virtual Central Monitor Technicians will observe, interpret, prioritize, and escalate rhythm changes for a high-volume and clinically diverse patient population. This role requires rapid rhythm recognition, sound judgment with limited direct patient context, real-time communication with cross-facility care teams, and consistent adherence to standardized escalation protocols. Central Monitor Technicians use telemetry platforms, electronic medical records, and enterprise communication systems to support patient safety, continuity of care, and quality outcomes across the OSF HealthCare digital care environment.
