The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Computer Associate (Operations) in the Bureau of Enterprise Technology. The successful candidate will:
- Provide first-level technical support to FDNY personnel and assist senior technical staff across BTDS.
- Perform routine operational tasks to support FireCAD, EMSCAD, and other mission-critical systems.
- Monitor primary and backup hardware, software, peripherals, and applications; identify basic issues and perform initial troubleshooting.
- Escalate complex or unresolved technical issues to Level 3 staff following established escalation procedures.
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all support activities, incidents, and resolutions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining operational templates, logs, and tracking documents.
- Act as the initial point of contact for incoming IT-related calls, including user requests, reports, and updates.

COMPUTER ASSOC (OPERATIONS) - 13621

1. A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and two years of satisfactory full-time computer operations experience, in a large-scale networked, multi- tiered, or mainframe computer environment, or two years of satisfactory data communications network experience working in a mainframe or multi-tiered computer environment; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience as described
in "1" above; or

4. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2",or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience as described in "1" above
