What we do...

HindlePower has been designing and manufacturing industrial (non-commercial) battery chargers and dc power systems for the utility industry for over 35 years. Our products serve power generation and distribution, substations, switchgear OEMs, oil and gas, and transportation maintenance facilities. We are the leaders in our industry and have customers in all 50 states plus additional countries worldwide.

Our sheet metal shop makes the enclosures, brackets, frames, and panels for everything we build. What you make here ends up inside a finished product going out our own door.

What you'll do...

This is a hands-on job that moves around the shop. You will work alongside experienced people in different departments, and no two days look exactly the same. If you want to learn how metal fabrication actually works, this is a good place to start, because you will see most of it.

• Help out across the shop wherever the work is
• Assist with press brakes, shears, and other shop equipment, and learn to run them over time
• Grind, deburr, and finish metal parts
• Help in the paint department with prep and hanging parts
• Load, unload, and move material through the shop
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
• Follow our safety procedures, and speak up when something does not look right

What you bring...

You do not need sheet metal experience. We will teach you. What we cannot teach is showing up and caring about the work.

• Dependable and on time. In a shop this size, one person missing changes everyone else's day
• Willing to learn and to move between departments as the work shifts
• Attention to detail. A part that is off by a little causes a problem later on
• Able to work well with people. This is a team, not a set of individual stations
• Previous manufacturing or shop experience is a plus, but we will train the right person

Where this goes...

This is a starting point, not a dead end. We train people and we take that seriously. There is a defined path here for building skills, and press brake operation, welding, and machine setup are all things people grow into.

We promote from within whenever we can, and most of the people running our equipment today started somewhere close to where you would.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6AM-2:30PM
• Overtime available and encouraged, not required

Physical requirements
