Company Overview

The Taylor King Agency, Inc. is an independent exclusive agency of Alfa Insurance serving Phenix City, Russell County, and the Columbus area.

Alfa Insurance grew out of the Alabama Farmers Federation in 1946 and today protects more than 1 million customers across 11 states. Alfa is known for superior customer service, financial strength, and a culture built on faith, family, community, and integrity. Behind every policy we write is a company that has kept its promises to Alabama families for 80 years.

Our agency exists for a simple reason: people deserve an insurance office that knows them. Our clients are our neighbors. When they call, they get a person who recognizes their voice, understands what matters to them, and takes care of it the first time. When a storm hits or a wreck happens, they get someone who stands with them through the claim. That’s the kind of office we’re building, and it’s why we call this role Client Care Manager instead of customer service representative.

We’re a small team, which means your work is seen and your ideas matter. You’ll be trained on Alfa’s systems and products, coached by the agent, and backed by one of the most respected carriers in the Southeast. If you take pride in taking care of people and want to be part of a group that does the same, we’d like to meet you.

Job Summary

The Client Care Manager is the first face and voice our policyholders meet. You’ll run the front of the office, service existing customers across auto, home, farm, life, and business lines, and help the agent grow the book by prospecting, rounding out accounts, and finding coverage gaps. This is a relationship role first and a sales role second: we’re looking for someone who takes pride in knowing customers by name and solving their problems the first time.

Responsibilities

  • Serve policyholders in person, by phone, and by email: payments, billing questions, policy changes, ID cards, certificates, and claims intake and follow-up
  • Quote and bind property and casualty policies within your license and office procedure; document requests and complete changes in Alfa systems
  • Prospect for new business in multi-line insurance through referrals, walk-ins, phone inquiries, and community contacts
  • Complete scheduled account reviews with existing households and identify coverage gaps and add-on opportunities ( i.e. auto without home, home without auto, umbrella, life)
  • Refer life and health opportunities to the agent and help open the conversation with customers you know
  • Make sound decisions on applicant insurability and placement within Alfa’s underwriting guidelines
  • Handle daily office operations: opening and closing, mail, bank deposits under Alfa’s remittance rules, reports, supplies, and vendor contacts
  • Support the agent’s calendar, appointments, and follow-ups
  • Help set and track the office’s monthly new-business goals
  • Follow Alfa and agency policies on customer privacy, information security, and business conduct

Qualifications

  • Active Alabama Property & Casualty insurance license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or insurance coursework a plus
  • One or more years of customer service experience; insurance agency experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new software
  • Clear, warm communicator on the phone, in writing, and face to face; calm under pressure and good at de-escalating
  • Organized, accurate, and able to work independently in a small office
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for bank deposits and the monthly Opelika meeting
  • Team player with a positive, professional attitude
