UPMC is hiring a Part-Time, Physician Referral Liaison to support the offices in York and Hanover.

Ideal candidate would have previous experience with relationship or sales within a healthcare environment. 

Schedule: Flexible hours during business day of 8:30am-5:00pm may include an occasional weekend or evening

Will be required to work 16 hours each week. 

This is a hybrid position that requires 8 hours each week to be worked in-office. Additional hours will be worked remotely. 

Manager will discuss schedule and travel more during interview. 

Responsibilities:
 

• Serve as ombudsman to identify and resolve issues related to relationships, referrals or other operational matters and refer issues to the appropriate leader.
• Track and follow up on issues.
• Develop and coordinate all referral source direct marketing and sales activity for UPMC Central PA. 
• Produce monthly activity reports on visits; identify opportunities and issues; track progress and resolution.
• Meet regularly with referral sources to educate them on the services available through UPMC Central PA
• Facilitate educational programs for referral sources on specific topics and ensure that clients and referral sources have adequate marketing information and literature.
• Smile at and greet everyone enthusiastically, treat everyone with respect, dignity and C.A.R.E.
• Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards.
• Collect and analyze trend data from financial, business planning and other sources in collaboration with director to target opportunities to grow strategic volume or address issues.
• Promote the organization through education to hospitals, physician, office managers and other customers.
• Work closely with leaders and medical directors to manage accounts and to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide market intelligence to service lines.
• Develop and maintain referral information through the use of Data Warehouse and other available billing data.
• Monitor the healthcare environment for trends and opportunities for UPMC Central PA. 
• Research and make recommendations for new program development.

• Bachelors Required Bachelors in business or healthcare field is preferred. 
• Three years physician outreach and/or customer service experience working for a healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device or related business required.
