The US is experiencing the fastest expansion of Medicaid and commercial insurance coverage for doula services in perinatal health history — yet the infrastructure to support this workforce doesn't exist at scale. Loula is building it. We operate a provider network and software platform that enables independent doulas to credential with multiple health plans through a single, simple application, submit insurance claims in under five minutes, and receive guaranteed bi-monthly payment. For health plans, we provide a vetted doula network and full program operations. We're a Black-owned, women-led company founded by Lindsey Redd — a Stanford CS graduate and former Stripe engineer — to address persistent inequities in perinatal care, particularly for Black women and underserved communities. We're currently operating across all California counties with 350+ doulas and 12 health plan contracts, and backed by Y Combinator, BBG Ventures, Meridian Street Capital, and Wellington Access Ventures.
