KidMed is a pediatric urgent care practice focused exclusively on providing after-hours medical care for children and young adults, from newborns up to age 25. Established in 2009, KidMed was created by physician owners with extensive experience in pediatric emergency medicine who recognized the need for specialized, accessible urgent care tailored to young patients. The practice operates four locations—three in the Richmond region and one in Stafford, Virginia—making pediatric-focused urgent care more accessible to families in these communities. KidMed's approach centers on making urgent care less intimidating for children and their caregivers. The practice is guided by a set of core values: camaraderie, commitment, compassion, curiosity, and credibility. This values-driven culture shapes interactions with patients and families, as well as collaboration within their diverse staff of medical professionals. KidMed has been recognized by the Richmond Times-Dispatch as one of the region’s Top Workplaces, reflecting its reputation within the local healthcare community.
